Website Creation?

I need to create a website for my small business, I don't want to use the free sites and all.

I have created a website in Microsoft Word, and really know my way around there.

I have 1000's of templates which I could create it from. I also have Microsoft Publisher on my computer, which I could potentially use, but I do not know my way around that program.

Can anybody give me any pointers?

Thanks for your time

Website Creation?download windows xp

http://www.dreamhost.com is my favorite shared hosting provider. Very inexpensive, very powerful.

Website Creation?ies internet explorer

My boyfriend builds websites- he says ditch microsoft word and publisher- and go for dreamweaver- learn that and then start to build- its the best way.
Try www.thetemplatestore.com

I have used them many times and they do excellent templates both in Dreamweaver and fro Microsoft Frontpage.

If you're serious about creating a website for your business, then you DO NOT want to use Word or Publisher.

Try using Alleycode. It's free and would be your best bet without expenses since it's WYSIWYG, you can see what you're designing as you go along. It's also capable of creating your CSS files also.

Here's the link: http://www.alleycode.com/

Good luck.
Sorry to agree with everyone but you have to get rid of word and use a program like dreamweaver. Send me a message and I can give you a hand.
Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use Microsoft Word, you can easily upload your HTML files to generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!
Learn to code it yourself.

I run a hosting company so provide you with some cheap hosting if you need it, also we have a built in website builder package which is great if you don't have the time or motivation to learn to program websites.

Alternatively, if you want a highly proffesional and unique design/style for your website contact me and I am sure we can sort something out.

Good luck!
Steps For website designing For a layman.

1. You need a webspace at web hosting server.

Recommended :: GoDaddy http://www.godaddy.com

Free webhosting:: Awardspace,freeservers,netfirm...

http://www.freeservers.com/

http://www.netfirms.com/

like www.yourwebsite.com

Again Godaddy throws Domain name at lowest price available. You can get yourwebsite.info at price as low as

$ 0.99

well,you can have free domain name like yourwebsite.awardspace.com with free webhosts. or you can also redirect your paid domain towards freewebhosts.

Note:: Always keep the folder structure of your designed website while loading it at server.

i think you would be better off with dreamweaver you might get a cheap copy on ebay the programme is not easy at first or you could use microsoft front page i printed out the tutorials worked very hard to learn them and also ftp;
in making a web site for small biz you need to consider a lot of thing. you need to maintain your site regularly therefore you need quick ftp program, easy maneuver html editor and reliable web host in different stages of biz. so since you question is about making a website then i think a good html builder with built in ftp program could be a good choice. if your budget is low you can try a few good free html editors just enough for a start up biz such as coffeecup software or NVU. i don't think microsoft publisher has that capability because it is made for other purpose. hope that helps. check my profile if you need some guidance on website creation, web hosting tips or anything related to small biz knowledge.
I wouldn't do anything in word. If you don't want to learn all the programming http://www.doggydomains.com has a package called website tonight that helps you design a website easily. It's only like $5 a month and includes hosting.
If you want to do a graphical site, try frontpage.

Get rid of word %26amp; publisher.

i build ALL my sites in PHP %26amp; use FTP to get them online
If you hire a website designer to create your website, it will be very pricey. May I suggest that you get your own Domain name through www.GoDaddy.com ($10 each name per year) and than use www.LowPriceBuilder.com to create your web site.

I use http://www.LowPriceBuilder.com for few years. They only charge flat price, ($18 per month) include Web hosting, Shopping Cart system, Custom Feedback Form, Message Board, Autoresponder Page, customers password access page ..... etc. This would be the most inexpensive way to have your e-commerce web site to go online. The builder allows you to create your web page easily without knowledge of coding programming language.
